I had the dryer for two weeks and it started making a thumping noise and dryer settings weren't working properly. I had to have motor and a control board replaced.
I had a speed queen dryer and this was replacing the old dryer I had for almost 15 years. I was happy with speed queen products. I'm not very happy with the dryers.

My previous dryer was 29 years old and fast wearing out. I chose Speed Queen because my washer was an older model Speed Queen. I had relatives who had a speed queen dryer that performed well. I wanted a matching pair so I called a local shop and got a new Speed Queen. Love the product. I hope it helps my power bill because dry time is much shorter now.

it is very nice and efficient, since I am 77, it will probably outlast me and become a family heirloom, a little joke there. it is pricey, but so is service calls . When I had a couple of service calls on a previous appliance , both service men said there are fewer service calls for Speed Queen washer and dryers

The pro's..
The Speed Queen Electric Dryer works very well when it comes to drying clothes. My needs are pretty basic, 1 load per week, no additional users in the house so it fits perfectly with what I wanted. It's quiet and dries clothes very well.
The negatives.
Unfortunately the rotary dial that is used to set time and cycles of drying does not seem to move at all in the timed drying setting. It moves in the other settings, but will run way longer than I need, so I just open it up and the clothes are dry with time left on the dial.
Overall I like the brand and the model but for the price I paid I think it should work as advertised.
Made in the USA is a positive !

I love the simplicity of choices for drying cycles, but the combination of Delicate, Dry & AutoSense requires TWO cycles to achieve dry clothes. Despite reading the manual and a service call, the clothes are always Less Dry after the initial cycle; it takes a second cycle using the same setting results in Dry clothes.
This dryer went "berserk" the first day I used it and required a new dryer board. I've always wondered if it that replacement computer part is the issue with my Delicate loads.

I love how simple this machine is. It doesn't have all kinds of electronic buttons that I never use. I do wish it had a buzzer that lets you know when the load is done. Dries very well. Love the big door and light.

We recently replaced our 38 year old Maytag dryer after its untimely demise with a Speed
Queen DR300WE based on Speed Queen excellent reputation and were not disappointed.
The SQ dryer is more energy efficient, quicker drying time, and almost silent when in use.
Sure wish it had a alert (buzzer) when it is drying is complete.

I bought this because I was told it would last for a long time. The light burned out right away-I forgot that it was supposed to have one. The timer got "stuck" and wouldn't turn off-went all night once. When I called for repair they also said it needed a drum roller kit and timer for over $600.

This dryer was purchased after returning a lower priced other brand. We are very happy with this dryer. It is the simple things… love the inside light. The selection knobs could be a little easier to control. And if you prefer an end of cycle alarm this model does not have one.

All the power a person could want. Our dryer situation is the vent goes in the wall, up, across the ceiling & out under the outdoor eave. This dryer has plenty of power to push the air all that distance for it to go outside. Washer is great with a 35 min cycle - saves time & dies a great job.

I paid for a commercial dryer with the idea it would be very durable and work well. I have had to run my clothes through the dry cycle 2 times (140 minutes) since purchasing the dryer. A repair man came out after it was installed and said the dryer needs good airflow and to only load it HALF FULL. This is not energy efficient or what I expect from such an expensive commercial dryer.
